LAUGH OUT LOUD (LOL) @ ADVERSITY

Today, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reports even harder times ahead. A "Great Recession". And that much needed financing would most likely go to developed economies in Europe and the US first, leaving the poor developing economies in East Asia in a drastic trade slowdown.

Well, I don't need the IMF to tell me things are not doing so good. I've been feeling the economic crunch since January this year. But if there's one thing Asians, particularly Filipinos, are good at, it is the capacity to withstand pain and hardship. Dire financial difficulties usually trigger in us the ability to be creative at finding ways to make ends meet. We are at our best when we are at our lowest.

Filipinos eat Adversity for breakfast. And Crisis is but a side dish. We know crying and cursing will not help us one bit. Instead, we draw on our deep sense of humor and merely laugh out loud at adversity.
